About

Who am I?

My name is Norm and I am your average Joe.  I’m thirty-something, I have a beautiful wife and three wonderful children.  Two girls and a boy, they range in ages from ten months to ten years.

As a family, we enjoy our summer camping excursions.  We started with a tent, then started our foray into RVing with a 30 year old pop-up camper.  Finally we upgraded to our current 21 foot travel trailer.

Why the Practically Camping Blog?

Both my wife and myself have spent countless hours searching the depths of the internet for camping and RV information.  We managed to find a few reliable sources, but ultimately continued to struggle finding what we needed.

Since my 9-5 job is in IT (Information Technology), I have some experience with websites and blogs.  I decided to start gathering my thoughts and ideas together and start this blog.

Equipment History

Here is our family’s progression through the camping experience.

  • Escort 4-man tent
  • Woods 8-man, 2 room tent
  • 1973 Starcraft Stardust 10′ Popup Camping Trailer
  • 2003 SunValley Road Runner 21′ Travel Trailer

As you can see, we’ve gone through the camping experience from the bottom up.  Which explains where much of the content of this site comes from – personal experience.  I hope you find what you are looking for here.  If you don’t, drop me an email and I’ll do my best to get what you’re interested in posted to the site.

As a side note, you’ll notice throughout the site that there are a few advertisements and some posts will contain links to Amazon products.  Believe me, there is no big money maker here.  Any revenue generated from either of those sources is used solely to fund the hosting and related costs for the site.  Thanks for your support.
